There are many voices clamoring for our attention or worship and they are telling us that their way is the right way.  To put it another way, there are many roads to the same destination.  Now, this may be true when one goes on vacation, as they can take their automobile and choose one of the many roads that lead to their chosen destination.  They could also possibly choose another form of transportation that could get them to the same destination.  So there are many choices before them.

This may be true when you are taking a trip cross country via the Interstate system or other highway system or whatever mode of transportation you choose.  When it comes to issues of faith, however, there is only one road.

In the Bible and the book of Acts chapter 4:12 reads this way in the Holman Christian Standard Bible translation of Holman Publishing 2010; “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”  The context here is Peter the apostle telling his listeners that Jesus is the only way to eternal life and to Heaven.

Paul the apostle seems to pick up this theme in the New Testament book of Galatians.  In chapter 1 and verses 6-9 record these words: “I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from Him who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel – not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are troubling you and want to change the good news about the Messiah.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you, a curse be on him.  As we have said before, I now say again: If anyone preaches to you a gospel contrary to what you received, a curse be on him!”

Jesus said it most clearly of all in the gospel of John 14:6; “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father, but by Me.”  He is very clearly saying that He is the only way to eternal life and heaven.

Many voices are crying out today that there are many roads to heaven, but the Bible is very clear that there is only one way and that is through faith in Jesus Christ and what He did on behalf of mankind.  He lived a perfect life or one without sin, He died on a bloody cross, He was buried, He rose again to life never to die again and now He sits at the right hand of His Father in heaven.  This is the gospel in capsule form and when one believes this with all his or her heart then they are saved and fit for heaven or eternal life.  Paul the apostle records it this way in Romans chapter 10 and verses 9-10; “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”

Currently the Tri-faith initiative is attempting to communicate that there are multiple ways to heaven.  They are telling the public that the Jew, Christian and the Muslim have the same God and thus are three ways to heaven…but, this is not true.  Jesus was Jewish in nationality and was promised through the Old Testament Scriptures or the Jewish Torah to come and save His people and eventually sit on the throne of David of whom He was a descendent.  The Qur’an does not accept Jesus as the Son of God and argues that the Jewish and Christian Bible’s are inaccurate.

Both the Jewish and Christian Bible’s outdate the Quran by centuries and have not lost their authority or accuracy.  The Dead Sea Scrolls furthered the accuracy of the Old Testament as well as Archeology of the Old Testament.  The historicity of the New Testament has been proven over and over again and is beyond dispute.

At the same time as the Tri-faith movement, many so-called Christian churches are touting multiple roads to heaven, this is simply pluralism rearing its head again.  If one calls themself a Christian then there is only truly one way to heaven.  Jesus told us Himself, He is the only way to heaven, Peter seconded it and Paul verified it.  Don’t be fooled by other so-called gospels, there is only one and it is a straight path.  Remember the old saying: “The shortest distance between two points is a straight line.”  Why would we want to take a long and winding road when it will not even get us to the destination we desire?

God has made it simple and He calls out both Jews and Muslims to be reconciled to their Creator through the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ.  He loves you more than you know, so come through the one way given to men to be saved – Jesus Christ.

  1. I have learned from all the years of driving truck for a living. There are many roads and many ways to get to your destination. Yet in the end there is only one way. There is a right way or a wrong way. Driving down the Interstate you can’t drive in the middle of the road not only will it be very rough the obstacles will always get in the way. You can’t drive in the lanes going the opposite direction without coming to a sudden or an abrupt end. Life is the same way yet God allows us to choose our own way and many of us have chosen the wrong way. An abrupt end without God would be our own choice and it will be devastating. There is only one way and if we make that choice early in life it is a rewarding choice that never leaves you. YahShua (Jesus) promised us in John 14:18 that he would not leave us as orphans.
