The Iranian nuclear negotiations represents the penultimate expression of this generation’s “peace for our time” naïveté.  It is a toxic combination of appeasement and buck-passing that will be long remembered as a turning point in world history, should it stand unabridged by Congressional action.

Throughout American history, the Left has proven again and again that they are incapable of rational thought when it comes to dealing with the march of evil.  The Left’s treatment, no…embrace is a better word, of the Soviet Union from the 40’s onward is but one notable example.

Western appeasement of Nazi Germany led to unthinkable brutality and global convulsions.

The world is a more dangerous place for the efforts of the Left in geopolitics.  South and Central America are decades behind where they could’ve been economically and socially because of the retarding influence of hard-Left socialist/communist regimes.  The very regimes that were enabled by the coddling behavior of the American Left throughout the latter part of the twentieth century.

The mistakes of the early twentieth century led to the cataclysm of World War II.  The necessary lessons of WWI were ignored as the Left sought to appease evil and worked against the wiser counsel of men like Churchill who warned of the inevitable outcome years before it came to fruition.

So it is today.  However, as deadly and convulsive as WWII proved to be, it will indeed pale into insignificance when compared to the coming paroxysms, fueled by extreme “end-of-the-world” Islamic theology and enabled by state of the art nuclear capabilities.

To permit Iran to possess a nuclear weapon is not merely wrong-headed, it is suicidal.  It will trigger a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, a region hardly known for restraint and comity, while forcing the only sane regime in the region, Israel, to act preemptively.  This article below is an exploration of the dynamics that play into the actions currently undertaken in these “negotiations.”

As the world teetered on the brink of nuclear oblivion many times between the end of WWII and the fall of the Soviet Union, so we find ourselves scrabbling for a foothold on the edge of a nuclear abyss today.  The difference is, we were breaking new ground back then, finding our way through a world made radically different by the advent of nuclear weaponry.  This time, we know the danger. We recognize the pitfalls and we are permitting our leadership to drag us down the wrong path anyway.  Pray for God’s intervention, before Obama’s “peace for our time” becomes a nuclear wasteland we once called the Middle East.
