Ephesians 3:20-21:
“Now to Him
who is able
to do far more abundantly
BEYOND ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK,
according to the power that works within us,
to Him be the glory
in the church
and in Christ Jesus
to all generations
forever and ever.
Amen.”

Greetings friends of Dr. Mark Christian and Global Faith!

I write these words in mid-February, 2025, nearly a month after Donald J. Trump took office for his second term as President of the United States.  Ephesians 3:20-21 shown above captures my thoughts exactly!  And I suspect yours, and many others, as well.  “… more abundantly, beyond all that we ask or think”.

Nighttime view of The White House in Washington DC, USA

I am old enough to have observed The Left’s “Long March Through the Institutions”, a slogan coined by German socialist and student activist Rudi Dutschke around 1967 to describe his strategy TO CREATE RADICAL CHANGE IN GOVERNMENT BY BECOMING PART OF IT.  For us Christians, since at least the 1960s, it has indeed been a long, arduous, and exhausting fight against said “march”, engaging in a seemingly never-ending, and never winning, culture war.

Quite frankly, I, and many Christians and conservatives, felt as though The Left was only growing stronger and stronger, and that our efforts to counter them were becoming futile (just as they wanted us to feel).  This made me (and others) think and feel pessimistic about the future of the U.S. and the world.  The trend was ominous.

“But God …”!!

It is my belief that we are witnessing one of the greatest miracles of our time.

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.  But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear you.”  Isaiah 59:1-2

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways [repent], then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  II Chronicles 7:14

I know that many, many Christians have cried out to God for decades. And I believe that God has heard their cries, and has chosen to act.

I can see no other explanation for the magnitude of what has occurred this past month.  Changes beyond my wildest expectations.  No human force could accomplish this.  “For our struggle is NOT against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the SPIRITUAL FORCES OF DARKNESS in the heavenly places.”  Ephesians 6:12

President Trump is a very imperfect man, being used by a very perfect God.

In the Bible, we have many examples of non-Jewish kings aiding the Jewish people.  King Artaxerxes of Persia (ruled 465-424 BC) is a key figure in both the books of Ezra and Nehemiah.  This king commissioned Ezra to take charge of the Jews’ civil and ecclesiastical affairs.  Ezra led a company of Jews back to Jerusalem.  This king gave permission to Nehemiah to journey to his homeland to begin rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls.

King Cyrus (ruled 559-530 BC) was another pagan king of Persia who aided the Jews.  Cyrus also allowed the Jews to return to their homeland to rebuild Jerusalem.

So, regardless of one’s opinion of Donald Trump the man, I believe that God is using him as a force for good, as He used Persian kings for the good of the Jews.  Praise God that He is doing this and that we are alive to witness and benefit from it!

Let us give thanks!

And let us CONTINUE to cry out to God, and CONTINUE to humble ourselves, and repent.
