Constitutional lecturer KrisAnne Hall and Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson attended a meeting arranged by a private citizen to discuss issues of state sovereignty. The two did not agree entirely on the subject and Ms. Hall subsequently made a number of disparaging remarks regarding our esteemed Attorney General at a presentation she gave later that same day.
The event at which she spoke was advertised and co-sponsored by the Global Faith Institute (GFI). The Executive Director, Executive Board and staff of GFI wish to make it abundantly clear that we do not share Ms. Hall’s opinions regarding our Attorney General and regret that these offensive and unmerited remarks were made at an event bearing our imprimatur.
Furthermore, we are withdrawing our sponsorship of an upcoming event featuring Ms. Hall and consider our affiliation with Ms. Hall to be at an end.
GFI values vigorous debate and is no stranger to strong opinions forcefully expressed, however when the debate becomes an exercise in personal disparagement, we condemn such behavior in the strongest of terms and reserve the right to sever our relationship with those we believe to have crossed the threshold between strong opinion and defamation.
On behalf of the Executive Board and staff of the Global Faith Institute, I would like to extend our sincere apology to Attorney General Doug Peterson and express our gratitude for his leadership and exemplary service to our state.
