It is simply amazing to see how man continually attempts to redefine the created order when they have no real power to do so. The Supreme Court of the United States redefined marriage within the past two years and now the President of the United States is making statements that will endanger women and children to an unknown degree.  Since when did it become a good idea to challenge God?

There is nothing new under the sun according to the Preacher in the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes.  Just before the global flood during the time of Noah, mankind was a difficult group to love – “The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5, ESV).

The old-saying “The more things change, the more they remain the same,” is certainly true.  We live in a world that is in constant flux, yet the heart of man remains the same.  If a person is honest with themselves, there is no denying that the heart of men, still fits the pre-flood description.

In the beginning God had a perfect plan, and it will still work out as He planned, but it would behoove man to stick to that perfect plan for the glory of God and the joy of the individual and mankind.

This is what the Old Testament tells us about the first and perfect plan of God: “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.  And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock ad over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  And God blessed them.  And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth…’” (Genesis 1:26-28a, ESV, emphasis mine).

The point of this passage is that God made us both male and female.  This is natural, or as some might refer to it “by nature.”  According to Matthew 5:48, God is perfect; therefore everything He made was perfect as well.  In God’s perfect plan of creation, He made a male and female so that when they came together through intercourse they could populate the earth.  His plan was perfect – without defect – until man chose deception over truth, and walked away from God.  From perfection to death…by our own decision.

When you plug something into a wall socket, for the electricity to work correctly and produce the energy you need, the plug must be inserted correctly.  The part that plugs into the wall socket is called a male end and the wall socket has what is called a female end.  It is the only way it works correctly because two male ends cannot produce what is needed and neither can two female ends.  Some might call this a no brainer.

On a grander scale when it comes to humankind it is even more important to come together in a natural way to produce another generation of mankind.  God saw it and it was good.  Man saw it and thought that he could improve upon the original plan, and the result has been catastrophic confusion.

We have permitted the slaughter of millions of innocent children.  We now “celebrate” the unnatural union between members of the same sex – as “love.”  This great nation was founded upon the premise of being a city on a hill to the glory of God.   What began as an inspired expansion of His kingdom among men has now descended into a place richly deserving divine judgment.

Evil runs rampant throughout our cities and countryside, and God has begun to allow His judgment to flow.  The church is not without guilt.  We who are the church of God ought to be on our faces, repenting that we have not sought His face to see revival both personally and in the church worldwide.

Paul the apostle, in the book of Romans argues correctly as to the original plan of God and man’s denigration of that plan.  “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions.  For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error” (Romans 1:27-27, ESV).

God will not be mocked, according to Galatians 6:7, there are consequences to our choices.  We can choose our behavior but not the consequences.  But in truth, we know already what lies beyond that poor decision or that willful disobedience to God.  We recognize sin, and commit it anyway.  We must choose more wisely.

The wise choice is to stick to the plan; God’s plan that He began at the beginning.  Yet, it must begin with the church of God and actually believing fully in the Bible.  Yes, believing is where it begins but valuing it and living it out gives it flesh and meaning to God’s original plan.

Christ came to enable us to reconnect with the plan we abandoned so long ago.  He shed His blood on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins and freedom from sin.  The original plan was perfect communion with God on a personal level and when man messed that up, it allowed God’s original plan to continue without any glitches.  God knew, and it is a mystery, that man would mess it up and then He could fully put into gear His eternal plan of placing Himself upon this earth in the person of His Son.

Hence the plan is still in play.  Are you in?
